The Summer School ISCiS: Smart tourism in a digital age will explore key topics related to processes linked to the theme of smart tourism in order to promote the development of tourism according to an interdisciplinary approach, aiming at the development of sustainable and resilient cities and territories through the use of the most suitable technologies according to a strategic and systemic vision. The program will include lectures led by internationally recognized researchers, providing a balanced mix of theoretical insights and practical applications through a co-working lab. Beyond the technical program, the Summer School will be an opportunity for: networking with the lecturers and other students, improving general research work skills, and enjoying a nice stay in Norcia!

The Summer School is aimed at graduates and doctoral students interested in exploring issues related to sustainability and constitutional change in comparative experiences.

The primary objective of the programme is to provide a solid theoretical and methodological foundation on the topics addressed, while also fostering the development of critical thinking and analytical skills. Special attention will be given to the use of innovative approaches, including methodological innovations, for the interpretation and study of the phenomena under examination.

Participants will have the opportunity to engage with faculty and sector experts, acquiring valuable tools for academic research and for analysing constitutional transformations and sustainability processes from a comparative perspective.

Holder of a Bachelor’s degree in any degree class or equivalent qualification (Bachelor’s degree).

Preference will be given, in order of importance, to candidates with:

  • PhD
  • enrolment in a PhD programme
  • Master’s degree or equivalent
  • English language proficiency at B1 level of the CEFR for languages

Notice: The following priority criteria will be applied for candidate admission:

  1. residence within the Central Italy 2016 earthquake crater area, as identified in Annexes 1, 2 and 2-bis of Decree-Law 17 October 2016, no. 189, converted into Law 15 December 2016, no. 229
  2. holding a degree
  3. chronological order of applications
