
The Bachelor’s degree in International and Advertising Communication (ComIP), offered by the Department of International Human and Social Sciences, addresses the current needs of the job market by training communication professionals with advanced communication, digital, and language skills. Graduates are prepared to work in advertising, corporate communication, non-profit and institutional communication, within organizations operating at both national and international levels.
The programme is structured into two tracks:
- the International Communication track (COMIP-I) provides graduates with expertise in the strategies and techniques of communication used in international organizations across the public, private, and non-profit sectors. In addition to core courses shared between the two tracks, students take modules focusing on legal and political science, multicultural societies, and the use of digital technologies
- the Advertising Communication track (COMIP-P) develops skills in business communication, marketing, social and advertising communication. Specialized courses are offered in language studies, semiotics, economics and business administration, and digital communication
Course information
- acquire theoretical knowledge and methodological-professional skills in the fields of communication and language, economics, law, and social sciences
- deepen understanding of psychological, psychosocial, and sociological dynamics of communication
- develop knowledge related to mass media systems and digital communication
- acquire skills for the design and development of communication plans
- develop advanced abilities in managing both internal and external communication flows
- develop skills in the strategic use of the Italian language, with particular reference to drafting promotional and advertising texts for distribution across various types of media and communication environments, both digital and non-digital
- acquire an in-depth knowledge of two European Union languages and their specialized communication registers
- develop specific IT skills, with particular reference to information technologies
- acquire competencies aimed at intercultural communication
The programme trains communication professionals who find employment in press offices and public relations offices, public opinion and market research institutes, publishing companies and news organisations, radio and television broadcasters, web services agencies, local authorities, foundations, political parties, trade unions, and associations, both nationally and internationally.
The skills acquired may also enable graduates to start their own entrepreneurial ventures.
More specifically, the International Communication curriculum prepares students for roles within:
- international cooperation organisations
- citizenship offices and services supporting multicultural coexistence
- organisations operating internationally in the field of cultural relations
- publishing companies or editorial divisions of international organisations and institutions
- international institutions and organisations promoting and developing analogue and digital communication media
The Advertising Communication curriculum, on the other hand, is designed to train highly qualified professionals for positions in:
- advertising agencies (art director, copywriter, media planner)
- marketing and communication consultancy agencies
- event management agencies
- companies targeting international markets
- digital communication agencies and community management services
- publishing companies
