Internships and Traineeships

The internship is fundamentally important for establishing a concrete link between the world of work and the academic environment from which the student originates. This experience represents a valuable opportunity for a first contact with the professional world.

Students wishing to undertake a curricular internship are required to send the following documentation by email, at least 6 months prior to the planned date of their thesis defense, to the address stageplacement@unistrapg.it:

• updated curriculum vitae
• self-certification or scan of the university transcript to verify completed exams

The internship is mandatory and is carried out during the final year of study.

At the end of the internship, the host organization will certify attendance with an official certificate and provide an assessment of the outcome.

ECTS Credits Allocated for Curricular Internships in Different Study Programmes

For Bachelor’s/Master’s degrees requiring a 6-ECTS internship:

• The internship is scheduled for the final year of the programme.
• The duration is a minimum of 200 hours to be completed over a period of no less than 2 months, and up to a maximum of 6 months.
• The internship may be extended based on the completion of the training plan agreed upon with the host organisation and/or the course tutor.

For the Bachelor’s programme in Made in Italy, Food and Hospitality requiring an 8/9 ECTS internship:

• The internship is scheduled for the final year of the programme.
• The duration is a minimum of 300 hours to be completed over at least 3 months (for 8 ECTS internships), or 350 hours over at least 3.5 months (for 9 ECTS internships), up to a maximum of 6 months.
• The internship may be extended based on the completion of the training plan agreed upon with the host organisation and/or the course tutor.

For the Bachelor’s Degree in International Studies for Sustainability and Social Security (SIS) – 6/12 ECTS

• The internship is scheduled for the final year of the programme.
• The duration is a minimum of 200 hours over at least 2 months (for 6 ECTS internships), or 400 hours over at least 4 months (for 12 ECTS internships), up to a maximum of 6 months.
• The internship may be extended based on the completion of the training plan agreed upon with the host organisation and/or the course tutor.

The internship consists of observing Italian language classes for foreign learners and can be carried out either at the University for Foreigners of Perugia or at public or private institutions outside the University.

These activities apply to the following programmes:
Bachelor's Degree in Digital Humanities for Italian (DHI) - 6 ECTS
Master's Degree in Italian for Teaching to Foreigners (ItaS) - 6 ECTS 

All second-year students of the master's degree programme ItAS and all third-year students of the bachelor’s degree programme DHI are required to attend the Internship Day for the 2024/2025 academic year: 10 hours of preparatory theoretical and methodological lectures prior to starting the internship.
