Double degree between the Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation (SOCI) and the degree in Global Communication in Business and Culture at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Germany

  • A tripartite individual Learning Agreement, compliant with ERASMUS standards, is required and will serve as the basis for enrolment in the programme/degree.
  • Demonstrated English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2/CEFR.

The maximum number of students admitted to the double degree program each year is 5 per university.

The mobility program lasts two semesters, which do not need to be consecutive, and must be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (applications must be submitted according to the annual deadlines specified in the Erasmus call).

During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the study plan designed by both universities and to complete all required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS, which may include the mandatory internship and thesis defense.

Students participating in the double degree programme

  • will be enrolled at both institutions during the academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
  • will be regarded by both parties as full students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will have access to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
  • will therefore hold student status at both institutions
  • will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
  • must respect the legislation in force in the host country, in particular with regard to health insurance and social security

Both universities will be responsible for handling all administrative enrolment procedures and management of files for students from the partner university, through their respective administrative offices and academic coordinators for the double degree programme.

Students are required to regularly attend lectures and take the relevant exams in accordance with the regulations of the host university.

During the period of study abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities, as well as the procedures for taking and assessing exams.

Courses will be taught in English.

Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia or Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, at the end of their third year, will write their thesis/thesis project either at their home institution or at the host institution, as specified in their Learning Agreement.

Students are required in any case to formally apply for thesis submission at the Registrar’s Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of the final thesis before the defense, even if they defend it at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
