Double Degree between the Master's Degree in International Relations and Development Cooperation (RICS) and the Master's Degree in Global International Relations and Public Diplomacy at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow, Poland

Each year, universities publish a call for applications for the selection of students. The evaluation is carried out by a committee consisting of at least two members from each university. The committee may conduct the selection process through online meetings. Before the committee meeting, candidates are interviewed at their home university.

To access the second year of the double degree programme, students must:

• have obtained the credits required by the first-year study plan
• demonstrate certified English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2/CEFR

The mobility period corresponds to the second academic year, which cannot be split, of the Master’s degree programme, and may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (an application must be submitted according to the deadlines set out each year in the Erasmus call).

During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the curriculum developed by the two universities and to pass all the prescribed exams, for a total of 60 ECTS, including the compulsory internship and thesis defense.

Students participating in the double degree program

• are enrolled at both universities during the current academic year and pay tuition fees only at their home university
• are considered full-fledged students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they have access to: courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
• therefore hold student status at both institutions
• must comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
• must comply with the applicable legislation in the host country, particularly regarding health insurance and social security

Both universities are responsible for all administrative enrollment procedures and management of student records from the partner university, through their respective student offices and the appointed coordinators for the double degree program.

Students are required to attend classes regularly and to take the corresponding examinations according to the procedures established by the host university's academic regulations.

During their study period abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities and the modalities for taking and assessing examinations.

Courses are taught in English.

Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia are required to complete a final examination at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow at the end of their mobility period (second year), in accordance with the regulations of the Jagiellonian University of Krakow for the awarding of the master’s degree.

As part of this examination, students undertake an individual research project that culminates in the presentation of the master's thesis and the final examination.

The thesis application must be submitted by 15 September of the final year of study, and the thesis must be defended within 30 days of submitting the application, preferably in agreement with the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, for the awarding of the RICS degree.

By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the final examination at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow is also recognized as the thesis defense for the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, provided that a faculty member from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia participates in the evaluation committee, including via online means.

Students must still formally submit their thesis application by email to the Student Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the applicable fee, and send a copy of their final thesis prior to its defense at the Jagiellonian University of Krakow.
