Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and Mittweida University of Applied Sciences aimed at awarding a joint bachelor's degree between the degree in "Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation" (SoCI) at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the degree in "Global Communication in Business and Culture" at Mittweida University of Applied Sciences
- a three-party individual Learning Agreement, compliant with ERASMUS standards, is mandatory and will serve as the basis for enrolment in the programme/degree
- proven English language proficiency at a minimum level of B2/CEFR
The number of students admitted to the double degree programme each year is a maximum of 5 per university.
The mobility period lasts two semesters and may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (subject to application within the annual Erasmus call deadlines).
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the study plan developed by both universities and to pass all required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS, including, where applicable, the compulsory internship and thesis defense.
Students participating in the double degree programme
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be regarded by both parties as full students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will have access to courses, tutorials, laboratory placements, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore hold student status at both institutions
- will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal requirements of the host country
- must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security
Both universities will handle all administrative enrollment procedures and student record management for students arriving from the partner university, through their respective administrative offices and programme coordinators for the double degree.
Students are required to regularly attend classes and take the relevant examinations according to the procedures set by the host university's regulations.
During the period of study abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities, examination procedures, and assessment methods.
Courses will be taught in English.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia or the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences will write their thesis/thesis project at either their home institution or the host institution at the end of the third year, as specified in their Learning Agreement.
Students are still required to formally apply for the thesis at the Registrar’s Office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and submit a copy of the final thesis before the defense, even if the thesis is defended at the Mittweida University of Applied Sciences.
