ITALYOU project fellows involved in the "Mediterranean Bridges" initiative
A group of scholarship recipients from the ITALYOU project – “Italy in Your Future” – and students from the University coming from Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, and Tunisia, took part in the “Mediterranean Bridges” initiative, a public history research workshop promoted by the Institute for Italy-Africa Dialogue (IDIAF) of the Treccani Cultura Foundation, in collaboration with MAECI and the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, reaches its 26th edition this year, featuring the theme “Ingenious Language: Imagining, Designing, and Creating with Italian”. The initiative aims to highlight the strategic link between culture and Italy’s economic growth, for which the Italian language and Italophony are privileged tools.

The University of Perugia and the University for Foreigners of Perugia were the only Italian universities to represent Italy at the VI University Presidents for Peace Conference, held on August 6th in Hiroshima (Japan) and promoted by Hiroshima University. The Rector of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, Valerio De Cesaris, signed a cooperation agreement on 23 June in Berlin with Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Istituto Italiano di Studi Germanici, launching a multi-year collaboration dedicated to teaching, research, and academic mobility.
The University for Foreigners of Perugia in Georgia for the training of Italian language teachers
Professor Sabrina Stroppa, Director of the Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World, and Professor Borbala Samu, lecturer in language education, are visiting Tbilisi for training sessions with primary and secondary school Italian teachers in Georgia, in collaboration with the Minerva Education Hub.
Teaching Italian, poetry and podcasts are the main topics of the sessions, which have been officially recognised by the Georgian Ministry of Education as part of teacher training activities.
