The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, reaches its 26th edition this year, featuring the theme “Ingenious Language: Imagining, Designing, and Creating with Italian”. The initiative aims to highlight the strategic link between culture and Italy’s economic growth, for which the Italian language and Italophony are privileged tools.
The Università per Stranieri di Perugia, through several delegations, will carry out institutional missions in various countries during the Week from 19 to 25 October, and in the periods immediately preceding, depending on specific local contexts. The schedule begins on 9 October in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat, at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted, with a particular focus on the country’s first Italian language certification center.
The University will then be represented by another delegation starting from 15 October in Armenia, with activities coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan at the Yerevan State University and “Brusov” State University—both reference centers for Italian language—featuring scheduled training sessions for faculty and students.
An additional delegation, with the Rector, will be present in Canada. This is the University’s first mission to Canada, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montréal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver. Meetings and initiatives will be held at these Institutes and Canadian universities offering Italian, with the aim of strengthening ties with academic institutions and reaffirming the University’s longstanding mission.
