Framework agreement for international academic cooperation between Université de Lorraine Nancy and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia aimed at granting a double three-year degree between the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) at Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the "Langues, Littératures, Civilisations Étrangères et Régionales" (LLCER) licence, Italian Track, Teaching Professions Option at Université de Lorraine, as well as a double master's degree between the "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (ItaS) Master's degree at Università per Stranieri di Perugia and the "Master en Langues et sociétés", 2nd Degree, Italian Track at Université de Lorraine.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia who wish to enroll in the double degree program and meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Academic Coordinator for this double degree (application form, curriculum vitae, and motivation letter in Italian and French) by mid-November:
- for the bachelor's degree: after enrollment in the second year of the program
- for the master's degree: after matriculation
- be regularly enrolled
- in the second year of the Bachelor's degree in Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World (LiCIMoD) at the time of application for the double degree programme
- in the third year of the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) and have acquired at least 120 ECTS credits at the time of departure for double degree mobility
- in the second year of the Master's degree in "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (ItaS) and have acquired at least 60 ECTS credits at the time of departure for double degree mobility
- have certified proficiency in the French language
- for the Bachelor's double degree: minimum level B2 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or an assessment test by the partner university)
- for the Master's degree: minimum level C1 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or an assessment test by the partner university)
The number of students admitted to the double degree programme is agreed upon annually and includes a maximum of ten students per university.
The mobility period lasts for the full third academic year (not subject to division) for the bachelor’s degree programme and for the full second academic year (not subject to division) for the master’s degree programme. In both cases, the mobility period may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period, by applying according to the deadlines specified each year in the Erasmus call.
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the study plan developed by both universities and to successfully complete all required examinations, totaling 60 ECTS, including the mandatory internship.
For the bachelor’s double degree programme, the internship will be carried out entirely during the mobility year. For the master’s double degree programme, the internship will be carried out half during the first year at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia and half during the second year at the Université de Lorraine Nancy.
Students participating in the double degree program
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the academic year in question and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be regarded by both parties as full students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they are entitled to attend courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore have student status at both institutions
- will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
- must comply with the legal requirements in force in the host country, particularly with regard to health insurance and social security
Both universities will handle all administrative registration procedures and manage the files of students from the partner university through their respective student offices and the faculty members responsible for the double degree program.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and to sit the corresponding examinations according to the procedures established by the host university regulations.
During their period of study abroad, students must comply with the academic regulations of the host institution regarding the organization of teaching activities and the methods of examination and assessment.
Courses offered at Université de Lorraine - Nancy will be taught in French.
Students of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia are required to undertake a final examination at Université de Lorraine at the end of their mobility period (third year for the bachelor's degree and second year for the master's degree), in accordance with the regulations of Université de Lorraine for the award of the double degree.
Students may write their final examination for the bachelor’s degree or their master’s thesis in Italian or French, as agreed with their supervisor. However, students must also submit a substantial summary of their work in the other language.
By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, the final examination at Université de Lorraine is also considered as the thesis defense for the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, provided that a member of the evaluation committee from the Università per Stranieri di Perugia participates, including remotely.
Students must nevertheless formally apply via email to the thesis office of the Università per Stranieri di Perugia, pay the required fee, and send a copy of their final dissertation before the defense at Université de Lorraine Nancy.
