The three-year program in Digital Humanities for Italian, belonging to the L-10 degree class (Literature), features a highly innovative profile. It is focused on the teaching of the Italian language and culture, with particular attention to new technologies applied to the humanities. This program is designed for students who wish to teach and promote Italian culture and language in its various aspects, both synchronic and diachronic, in schools and institutions of all types and levels, both in Italy and abroad.
The course aims to provide graduates with a solid foundation in Italian language and culture, through courses in Linguistics and History of the language, Contemporary History, Literature, Philology, Latin, Art, History of Cinema, and Music. These subjects form the base upon which theoretical and practical skills for teaching Italian as a second language are added, ensured by courses such as Language Didactics, Linguistic and Intercultural Skills for Teaching Italian as L2, and Italian for Foreigners.
Digital and computer skills have become essential in the study and teaching of the Italian language. Graduates will also have access to specific training in these areas, which represent the most innovative aspect of the program and include subjects such as Digital Geography, Digital Publishing, Information Architecture and User Experience Design, Professional and Web Writing, Informatics for the Humanities, Digital Didactics, and Data-Driven Learning.
The study of a foreign language (English, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic, or Japanese) and a wide and varied range of practical workshop activities provide further tools and skills, allowing students to translate theoretical knowledge into practical and operational abilities in an international context.
The program requires students to acquire part of their academic credits in those specific academic fields necessary for access to the teaching qualification class for teaching Italian to foreigners in Italian public schools (Class A-23, Italian language for students of foreign language background). The remaining credits, for those wishing to continue in the same field of study, can be obtained through the ITAS master's degree, specifically designed for this type of training.

* Students are required to choose an optional language course corresponding to the foreign language teaching course they will take in the 2nd year.
**The elective educational activities are independently chosen by students from all the courses and laboratories offered by the University at the same degree level. Furthermore, the Department recommends the indicated choices as they are considered consistent with the content and educational objectives of the degree program.
