The University for Foreigners of Perugia once again a key player in the Week of the Italian Language in the World

The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, reaches its 26th edition this year, featuring the theme “Ingenious Language: Imagining, Designing, and Creating with Italian”. The initiative aims to highlight the strategic link between culture and Italy’s economic growth, for which the Italian language and Italophony are privileged tools.

The Università per Stranieri di Perugia, through several delegations, will carry out institutional missions in various countries during the Week from 19 to 25 October, and in the periods immediately preceding, depending on specific local contexts. The schedule begins on 9 October in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat, at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted, with a particular focus on the country’s first Italian language certification center.

The University will then be represented by another delegation starting from 15 October in Armenia, with activities coordinated by the Italian Embassy in Yerevan at the Yerevan State University and “Brusov” State University—both reference centers for Italian language—featuring scheduled training sessions for faculty and students.

An additional delegation, with the Rector, will be present in Canada. This is the University’s first mission to Canada, organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montréal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver. Meetings and initiatives will be held at these Institutes and Canadian universities offering Italian, with the aim of strengthening ties with academic institutions and reaffirming the University’s longstanding mission.

The Week, promoted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation through the diplomatic-consular network and the Italian Cultural Institutes, under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic, reaches its 26th edition this year, presenting the theme “Lingua geniale: ideare, progettare, creare con l’italiano” (“Brilliant Language: imagining, designing, creating with Italian”) with the aim of promoting the strategic link between Italy's culture and economic growth, of which the Italian language and Italian-speaking communities are a key tool.

The University for Foreigners of Perugia, through several delegations, will conduct institutional missions in various countries during the Week from 19 to 25 October and in the days immediately preceding, depending on the needs of each local context. Activities will begin on 9 October in Turkmenistan with events coordinated by the Embassy of Italy in Ashgabat, held at universities and centers where Italian is taught and promoted, with special attention to the country’s first Italian language certification center.

The University will then be represented by another delegation from 15 October in Armenia, with initiatives coordinated by the Embassy of Italy in Yerevan at Yerevan State University and “Brusov” State University, both reference centers for the Italian language, including planned training sessions for teachers and students.

An additional delegation will be present in Canada with the Rector. This mission, the University’s first in Canada, is organized in collaboration with the Embassy of Italy in Ottawa, the Italian Cultural Institutes of Toronto and Montréal, and the Consulate General of Italy in Vancouver, and will involve meetings and events at these Institutes and at Canadian universities where Italian is taught, in order to strengthen relations with academic institutions and reaffirm the University’s historic mission.
