76 universities, 15,000 people involved for two months of meetings and screenings on the freedom of research. The University for Foreigners of Perugia has joined with an event that will take place on May 20, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Aula Magna of Palazzo Gallenga.

The delegation consisting of Prof. Ameur Bachir, recently appointed as the new Rector, and Prof. Safa Ouled Haddar, Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, Cooperation, Activities and Communication, and Scientific Events, was welcomed today, March 25, 2026, by the Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

The Magnificent Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, Professor Valerio De Cesaris, is attending today, March 19, 2026, the solemn ceremony for the conferral of an Honorary Doctorate upon the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, at the University of Salamanca, a longstanding partner of the university for international initiatives and projects.

On Monday, March 23, 2026, all degree course lessons will be held online on Teams, to allow off-site students to return to their home towns and exercise their right to vote in the referendum.

This year as well, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) is supporting the project "ITALYOU – Italy in your future," which allows students from African countries to attend the master's degree program in "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (Itas) at the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

The news was announced at the Forum of Italian and Uzbek Rectors organized by the Conference of Italian University Rectors (CRUI), in collaboration with the Ministry of University and Research, at Roma Tre University. The project, one of 10 selected from 199 submitted, is coordinated by Professor Letizia Cinganotto and involves the University of Bergamo and the World Languages University of Tashkent as partners.

The awards were given to three recent graduates of the degree program in Social Sciences for Sustainability and International Cooperation (SOCI) chaired by Professor Maura Marchegiani.
