The role played by national institutions, international and non-governmental organizations in managing displaced persons and migratory flows in Italy in the post-World War II period: a possible example of multi-track diplomacy.

The research project aims to analyze the ways in which population movements affecting Italy in the post-World War II period were managed, thanks to the actions of the many actors involved, in a process of multi-track diplomacy that saw institutions, international organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other entities collaborate at multiple levels. The research to be conducted specifically aims to analyze the work carried out by international organizations in Italy that provided support to the local population and refugees during the delicate historical period under study.
