Scholarships for Bachelor's and Master's Degree Programmes

You can submit your application for admission exclusively online and within the deadline specified in the call for applications.

Yes, however, you must complete your enrollment in the degree program within the specified deadline.

As stated in Art. 1 of the call for applications for the allocation of scholarships and services for the right to university education, eligible students may be entitled to the following types of benefits, depending on their submitted application:

• Scholarship (monetary grant + housing and dining services)
  It may be annual or semester-based, with or without accommodation included, and varies according to the student's category (off-site, commuter, or resident).
• International Mobility Grant (monetary grant)
  This is an additional scholarship to support participation in international mobility programmes, both within initiatives promoted by the European Union and in non-EU programmes.
• Eligible students are entitled to a reimbursement of the Regional Fee for the Right to University Education and may access housing and dining services free of charge.

Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, an agreement signed between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) and the Università per Stranieri di Perugia launched the scholarship program “ITALYOU – ITALY IN YOUR FUTURE,” which offers scholarships for enrollment in the master’s degree program “Italian for Teaching Foreigners” at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia.

The project targets young scholars from the following African countries: Algeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya, Libya, Morocco, Mozambique, Niger, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Africa, Sudan, Senegal, Somalia, and Tunisia (the list of countries may change each academic year based on current international agreements).

The annual amount for each scholarship is €8,000.00.
ITALYOU scholarship holders are only required to pay the regional student support fee.

Fund management
The scholarships are financially provided by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia using ministerial funds from MAECI (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation).

Selection and application
The selection process is not managed by the Università per Stranieri di Perugia but is conducted directly by partner institutions and local universities in the relevant countries.

Financial benefits
In addition to the annual grant, recipients are exempt from university tuition fees and are only required to pay the regional student support fee.

The University of Perugia for Foreigners' institutional scholarships fund the enrollment of international students in bachelor's and master's degree programmes for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Each scholarship amounts to €8,000.00 and is open to candidates from all countries worldwide that have (or have had) a cooperation agreement with the University.

Programme features and application procedures

Eligible applicants
International students wishing to enrol in a bachelor's or master's degree programme.

Geographical requirement
Citizenship in one of the partner countries that have an active or past formal agreement with the University.
In the previous edition for the 2025-2026 academic year, the countries involved were: Argentina, Brazil, Cameroon, Colombia, Mongolia, Montenegro, Romania, Senegal, Turkmenistan, Hungary, and Vietnam.

Funds management
The scholarships are allocated and disbursed directly by the University of Perugia for Foreigners.

Selection and application
The University does not manage the selection of candidates. The process is entirely delegated to the partner universities and institutions in the respective countries of origin.
