A delegation from the University of Blida 2 (Algeria) is visiting Palazzo Gallenga today.

The delegation composed of Prof. Ameur Bachir, recently appointed as the new Rector, and Prof. Safa Ouled Haddar, Vice-Rector in charge of External Relations, Cooperation, Promotion and Communication, and Scientific Events, was welcomed today, March 25, 2026, by the Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, together with Prof. Sabrina Stroppa, Director of the Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World; the Rector's Delegate, Prof. Federica Guazzini; Prof. Borbala Samu, Associate Professor in Modern Language Teaching; Dr. Marco Filardi, Researcher in General Psychology; and the staff of International Relations, Dr. Francesco Lampone and Dr. Valentina Seri.

The University of Blida 2 is one of the longstanding partners of the University for Foreigners of Perugia in Algeria, and the visit marked the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the two universities. During the meeting, the foundations were laid for participation in future Erasmus Mundus calls, reflecting the growing importance of double and joint degrees in the international context. There was also discussion about organizing the first bilateral conference on relations between Italy and Algeria, which the University for Foreigners is working on together with Blida 2 and other partner Algerian universities, as well as participation in ongoing or soon-to-be-launched research projects focusing on the study of the attitudes and habits of international students and the production of materials and resources for teaching Italian to Arabic speakers.

The visit will continue tomorrow with a meeting with the Algerian student community, which is numerous at the University for Foreigners thanks to the important partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for the ITALYOU project, which aims to train future Italian teachers in African countries.
