30 minutes to have a coffee together and speak Italian!

On February 17, 2026 at 12:00 pm (Palazzo Gallenga, floor -2), don’t miss the "Ricreazione Caffè" event, organized by the Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World (LiLAIM), for a coffee break in company to speak Italian and celebrate Carnival with traditional sweets.
On the same day, students enrolled in Italian language and culture courses will take part in the traditional parade of Carnival floats in San Sisto, set to take place in the historic center of Perugia on Shrove Tuesday.
In preparation for Carnival, on February 4th, 5th, and 12th, 2026, students and teachers will participate in an origami workshop led by artist Ayumi Makita, where they will create their own mask.
The masks will be dedicated to the theme of multilingualism to celebrate International Mother Language Day, proclaimed by UNESCO for February 21, to promote linguistic and cultural diversity as well as multilingualism.
During the Shrove Tuesday parade, students will meet the Mayor of Perugia, Vittoria Ferdinandi, and pay tribute to her with a "multilingual mask".
