Double degree between the Bachelor's program in Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World (LiCIMoD) and the Licence LLCER Italian Studies track at the University of Caen Normandy, France

Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia who intend to enroll in the double degree program and who meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Registrar's Office (application form, curriculum vitae, and motivation letter in Italian and French) when enrolling in the second year of the course, by the end of October.

  • be regularly enrolled
    • in the second year of the degree program in Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World (LiCIMoD) at the time of submitting the application for admission to the double degree program
      or
    • in the third year of the degree program and have at least 120 CFU at the time of departure for the double degree mobility
  • have verified knowledge of the French language at a minimum B1 level (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or evaluation test by the partner university)

The number of students admitted to the double degree is agreed upon each year and includes a maximum of ten students per university.

The duration of the mobility program corresponds to the third academic year, which cannot be split, of the degree course, and may be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period (by applying according to the deadlines set each year by the Erasmus call).

During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses specified in the study plan developed by both Universities and to pass all required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including the mandatory internship.

Students participating in the double degree program

  • will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
  • will be regarded by both parties as full students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they are admitted to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
  • will therefore have the status of students at both institutions
  • will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
  • must abide by the laws in force in the host country, in particular regarding health insurance and social security

Both universities will handle all administrative enrollment formalities and management of the student files for students coming from the partner university through their respective administrative offices and the faculty members responsible for the double degree program.

Students are required to attend classes regularly and to take the related exams according to the procedures established by the host university’s regulations.

During the study period abroad, students must comply with the rules in force at the host institution regarding the organization of teaching and the methods of taking and evaluating exams.

The courses will be taught in French.

Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia take a final exam at the University of Caen-Normandie at the end of the mobility period (third year), according to the regulations of the University of Caen-Normandie for the awarding of the degree. As part of the same exam, students prepare a final project, preferably agreed upon with the University for Foreigners of Perugia, for the purpose of awarding the LiCIMoD degree.

The final paper may cover the same topics established for the final exam at the University of Caen-Normandie.

By way of derogation from the thesis regulations of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, the final exam at the University of Caen-Normandie is therefore considered as the thesis defense also for the University for Foreigners of Perugia, provided that a professor from the University for Foreigners of Perugia takes part in the assessment committee, even remotely.

Students must still submit a proper thesis application by email to the office of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, pay the relevant fee, and send a copy of their final paper before the thesis defense at the University of Caen-Normandie.
