
International academic cooperation framework agreement between the Université de Lorraine Nancy and the University for Foreigners of Perugia aimed at issuing a double three-year degree between the Bachelor’s degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) from the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the "Langues, Littératures, Civilisations Etrangères et Régionales" (LLCER), Italian Track, Teaching Professions Option from Université de Lorraine, as well as a double Master’s degree between the Master's degree in "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (ItAS) from the University for Foreigners of Perugia and the "Métiers de l’Enseignement, de l’Éducation et de la Formation" (MEEF), 2nd degree focus, Italian track from the Université de Lorraine.
Students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia who wish to enroll in the double degree program and who meet the admission requirements must submit their application to the Registrar's Office (application form, curriculum vitae, and a motivation letter in Italian and French) by the end of October:
- for the bachelor’s degree: at the time of enrollment in the second year of the course
- for the master’s degree: at the time of registration
- be regularly enrolled
- in the second year of the Bachelor's degree in Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World (LiCIMoD) at the time of submitting the application for admission to the double degree program
- in the third year of the Bachelor's degree in "Italian Language and Culture in the Digital World" (LiCIMoD) and have at least 120 CFU at the time of departure for the double degree mobility
- in the second year of the Master's degree in "Italian for Teaching to Foreigners" (ItAS) and have at least 60 CFU at the time of departure for the double degree mobility
- have certified proficiency in the French language
- for the double Bachelor's degree: minimum level B2 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or assessment test by the partner university)
- for the Master's degree: minimum level C1 (DUEF, DELF, DALF, or assessment test by the partner university)
The number of students admitted to the double degree program is agreed upon each year and includes a maximum of ten students per university.
The duration of the mobility program corresponds to the third academic year, which cannot be split, of the bachelor's degree, and to the second, non-divisible, academic year of the master’s degree. In both cases, the mobility program can be combined with an Erasmus+ mobility period, by applying according to the deadlines set each year by the Erasmus call.
During the mobility period, students are required to attend the courses outlined in the curriculum developed by both Universities and to pass all the required exams, for a total of 60 ECTS credits, including the mandatory internship.
For the double bachelor's degree, the internship will take place entirely during the mobility year. For the double master's degree, the internship will be carried out half in the first year at the University for Foreigners of Perugia and half in the second year at the Université de Lorraine Nancy.
Students participating in the double degree program
- will be enrolled at both institutions during the current academic year and will pay tuition fees only at their home university
- will be considered by both parties as full-fledged students, with the same benefits, rights, and responsibilities as regular students. In particular, they will be admitted to courses, tutorials, laboratory internships, seminars, and conferences
- will therefore have student status at both institutions
- will comply with the internal regulations of the host institution and all legal obligations of the host country
- must comply with the legislation in force in the host country, particularly concerning health insurance and social security
Both universities will take care of all administrative registration formalities and the management of the files of students from the partner university through their respective secretariats and the faculty members in charge of the double degree program.
Students are required to attend classes regularly and to take the related exams according to the procedures established by the host university's regulations.
During the study period abroad, students must adhere to the rules in force at the host university regarding the organization of teaching and the procedures for taking and assessing exams.
The courses will be taught in French.
The students of the University for Foreigners of Perugia take a final exam at L’Université de Lorraine at the end of the mobility period (third year for the Bachelor’s track and second year for the Master’s track), according to the regulations of L’Université de Lorraine for the awarding of the degree.
Students may write the final exam for the Bachelor’s degree and the Master’s thesis in Italian or French, as agreed upon with their advisor. However, they must also present a comprehensive summary of their work in the other language.
By way of exception to the thesis regulations of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, the final exam at L’Université de Lorraine is thus considered as the thesis defense also for the University for Foreigners of Perugia, provided that a member of the evaluation committee from the University for Foreigners of Perugia is included, even in remote form.
Students must nonetheless submit a formal thesis application via email to the registrar of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, pay the related fee, and send a copy of the final paper prior to the thesis defense at Université de Lorraine Nancy.
