The Center for Language Assessment and Certification (CVCL) of the University for Foreigners of Perugia, established in 2005 as an autonomous university center, builds upon a longstanding experience in the field of Italian L2 and LS certification, which has been developed since 1987 by the University of Perugia.
The University for Foreigners of Perugia is one of the founding members of ALTE (Association of Language Testers in Europe), established in 1991, and of the CLIQ association (Quality Italian Language Certification), which since 2013 includes the four Certifying Bodies for the Italian language officially recognized in this role by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE).
