Students are required to request their thesis supervisor’s approval well in advance of the discussion date: at least three months prior for bachelor’s degrees and six months prior for master’s degrees.
The thesis discussion request must be submitted online, in the Esse3WEB reserved area, where the documentation specified in the thesis regulations must be uploaded at least 60 days before the scheduled graduation session date, and in any case within the deadlines specified for each thesis session (no extensions will be granted).
The thesis discussion request is accepted with reservation by the Degree Program and Didactics Office of the University; the reservation will be lifted only after verifying, in addition to the regularity of the submitted documentation, compliance with the required criteria.
Students must also pay €132.00 through the PagoPA system.
At least 20 days before the graduation session date, students must:
- have earned all the credits (CFU) required by their course’s study plan* (excluding credits that can be obtained with the thesis)
- submit to the Degree Program Office the documentation indicated in the thesis regulations
- complete the self-certification regarding the return of volumes borrowed from the University library
*If, upon check by the Office, not all credits have been earned, students will not be able to defend their thesis.
For the thesis discussion session in case of reconciliation, refer to the Academic Regulations.
At the time of submitting the thesis application, students must be up to date with the payment of all required fees and charges.
In case the discussion is postponed to sessions scheduled in subsequent academic years, students are required to submit a new thesis discussion request and to pay an additional fee of €50.00.
Diploma (final certificate in paper format)
Four to six months after the thesis discussion, the final degree certificate is issued in paper format (parchment).
In cases of loss, destruction, or theft of the original diploma, upon the request of the holder a duplicate will be issued, following the submission of a self-certification stating the loss/destruction/theft/deterioration of the parchment and the payment of a fee (see Course Catalogue). In the new document, signed by the Rector, the Head of Department, and the General Director in office, there will be a statement declaring that it is a duplicate of the original diploma.
If the replacement is due to the deterioration of the original certificate, the latter must be returned to the Degree Course and Teaching Office, which, after canceling it, will keep it in the personal file of the student concerned.
