National interest PhD courses in which the University for Foreigners of Perugia is a partner and the operational headquarters for research and training activities

For the A.Y. 2025-2026, the University for Foreigners of Perugia – in continuity with what has already been started in the A.Y.s 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 – is joining, as a funding partner pursuant to DM 226/21, the establishment of four National Interest PhD Programs (DIN) involving numerous Italian universities.

The National Interest PhD Programs (DIN) are doctoral programs designed and established by a consortium of universities and high-level research institutions of recognized international standing. The DIN provides for the sharing of teaching and research activities, the methods for regulating forms of financial support, and the exchange and mobility of professors and PhD students with the aim of contributing to the advancement of research. The doctoral student enrolls at the university that is the administrative headquarters of the course but carries out research activities at the University for Foreigners of Perugia.

As already for A.Y.s 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, for A.Y. 2025-2026, to complete its research training offer represented by the standard PhD courses, the University for Foreigners of Perugia has joined four national PhD programs.

  • National Interest PhD Program in Teaching & Learning Sciences: Inclusion, Technologies, Educational Research and Evaluation
    Administrative Headquarters: University of Macerata
    Operational site: University for Foreigners of Perugia – Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World (LILAIM)
  • National Interest PhD Program in Peace Studies
    Administrative Headquarters: Sapienza University of Rome
    Operational site: University for Foreigners of Perugia - Department of Italian Language, Literature and Arts in the World (LILAIM)
  • National Interest PhD Program in Religious Studies (DREST)
    Administrative Headquarters: University of Modena and Reggio Emilia
    Operational site: University for Foreigners of Perugia - Department of International Human and Social Sciences (SUSI)
  • National Interest PhD Program in European Studies
    Administrative Headquarters: University of Genoa
    Operational site: University for Foreigners of Perugia - Department of International Human and Social Sciences (SUSI)
