The course aims to train a professional figure capable of performing the role of online tutor (or e-tutor), someone able to interact with the various actors in the online educational process and to use network resources and tools in a teaching-oriented way to respond to users’ needs and support their learning processes. In addition, the course enables the tutor to navigate the LOL (Moodle) University platform and to become familiar with certain technological tools that support teaching.

The online tutor can operate both as a support figure for remote teaching and as a facilitator for online learning, and as an autonomous figure capable of designing distance education paths and assessment tests.

The expert in online tutoring can apply their professional skills in the following areas: public and private companies, non-governmental organizations, sectors of public administration, educational institutions of all types and levels, and organizations and/or institutions wishing to use online courses for the training of their staff.

The course is also useful for those already working in the online training sector to strengthen, update, and enhance their knowledge or skills.

Bachelor's degree obtained pursuant to Ministerial Decree 270/04 or Ministerial Decree 509/99, or a degree obtained under the system in place prior to Ministerial Decree 509/99, or a foreign qualification recognized as equivalent.

For successful participation in the course, a good command of the Italian language is recommended for students whose mother tongue is not Italian.

The course is delivered entirely online and is structured into four teaching modules:

Online tutor functionsGLOT-01/B1
Digital competence and resource managementGLOT-01/B2

All training activities are asynchronous, and therefore, students can organize their studies with maximum flexibility. Participants are required to complete the teaching modules in sequence according to an activity calendar, which sets the start and end dates; they are also required to complete assessments (end-of-module tests and the final assessment) on the days and during the time frames specified in the same calendar.

A teaching tutor supports participants throughout the course, encouraging and monitoring active participation, such as the submission of activities proposed within the modules and the discussion with fellow participants in the forums, which, while not mandatory, are strongly recommended.
